Money weeks activities in year 3ct & 3t

Friday, 3 July 2015

In year 3 we all went to year 6 money week ‘grow a pound’. In our visit to year 6 we saw the origami store and the smoothie stand. After our exiting 15 minutes in Mrs Bakers room, we all designed and made our very own money box. Also we created a  Halifax pocket money chart it showed how much pocket money children got during 15 years starting from 2000 and ending 2015.

Year 3 cave art

Friday, 3 July 2015

In year 3 ,we have been learning about cave men. One Friday afternoon we went outside to do cave paintings , we mashed up blackberries, raspberries , beetroot , strawberries ,rose petals blueberries , pomegranate seeds, charcoal .Then we put sand inside the mashed up fruits to  have coloring to our painting. Then we put our fingers inside the mushy fruit. We tore up leaves and then it made light green coloring on our paper. It was very fun and messy. Thank you for reading what we have been learning in year 3.

Children teach the teachers

Monday, 22 June 2015

Learning was turned upside down this morning when all of the year 5 children taught the teachers how to do some Activate exercises!

When the teacher’s entered the classroom, all of year 5 were ready to go. They have been taking part in Activate exercises twice a day for the last 3 weeks, now it was their moment to teach the teachers! The teachers were so impressed with the children’s professionalism and ability to perform the moves so well…I think the teacher’s have now got some practicing to do themselves.

The feedback from the children about the daily exercises was amazing. All children enthused about how it helps them get ready for their learning and are more focussed. All of the teachers are excited to take their new learning to their own classes and start doing the daily exercises with their own class!

Year 2 Thinktank Trip

Last week, all of year 2 travelled to Birmingham to start off their new topic. ‘All The Fun of The Fair’. The topic is all about design technology, how things work, inventions and how things move so this was the perfect place!

The children took part in outdoor activities where they had to use a variety of systems to make contraptions move, enjoyed a Lego trucks workshop and loved exploring all of the fantastic inventions. If only there were more hours in the day!
