St John’s Certainly has Talent!

Today was the final of St John’s has talent. It was a tense wait for all the contestants and the audience. It was a fabulous show of dancing, gymnastics, music, singing to name but a few talents. Our guest judges had a tough challenge choosing the winners. But they finally agreed on Year 1D for their amazing dance to One Direction and Freya and Luis from Year 4P for their singing and gymnastics – we are proud of you all. Well done to all those who took part and to Eva and Jack from Year 6ED who hosted the whole event – move over Ant and Dec!

Year 5’s Class Assembly

At 9:45am, year 5 were getting ready for something special. That special thing was……YEAR 5’S ASSEMBLY. Year 5, were ready to perform to more than 200 children and a couple of adults. While Year 5 was setting it up and getting dressed, other classes started to come in. 10mins later classes were getting into assembly and Year 5 Were ready.

It started! There was a Chef called James and a little cook called Leiylah, Spartans, Romans and Persians. Halfway through the assembly they sang a rap like !This is war! !This is war! After the assembly classes started to leave clapping. Also near the end some chosen, lucky children got to hold a piece of cardboard with a red tomato and a green apple.

Year 6 had a visit today from explore learning. They were very excited to learn about writing poetry. Well done to Alfie and Charlie Harness who wrote the best pieces of work- certificates are on their way to you!

Reception celebrate Diwali.

All week Reception have been celebrating Diwali. They have created their own Henna patterns and even had them printed on their hands.  They made Diva lamps and Rangoli patterns. Mrs Mahli also came in and made onion bhajis with the children. They were absolutely delicious! Thank you.

Harvest Around the World

Today, the whole school walked to St Johns church to celebrate harvest. This years theme was ‘Harvest Around the World!’ Each class looked at a different culture and how Harvest is celebrated across the world. It was a joyous occasion consisting of singing, dancing, acting and interesting facts.
