Out of School Club

We have our very own Out of School club on site, run by the school, under the supervision of qualified and experienced staff.

The aim of the club is to support working parents by providing a high quality of care for your children. This is provided in a friendly, safe, relaxing, reliable and stimulating setting.

About the Club

The club is available to look after children from 7.30am in the morning to the start of school and from 3.15pm to 6.00pm. We can look after children from the age of 4 to 12 years old.

The club is based in its own classroom specifically set up to offer a range of activities for the children to enjoy, for example:

  • Arts and crafts
  • Games and puzzles
  • Opportunities to catch up on homework
  • 'Chill time' – time to have a break with friends, chat, read and relax!

St. John's out of school club is a not-for-profit registered charity. This enables us to offer high quality childcare at affordable prices.

The club is registered with Ofsted. An inspection was carried out in July 2012. Across all areas provision was graded as good.

Objectives

  • To create and maintain a safe, caring and supporting environment for primary age children outside of normal school hours.
  • To be flexible in accommodating the needs of parents.
  • To operate on a sound financial basis to ensure the continued success and viability of the Club.

Premises

St. John's Out of School Club is situated in its own designated room within St. John's Primary School. It is registered with Ofsted to take a maximum of 26 children aged four to 11 years old. There are currently 61 children on the roll.

The Club uses the school toilets and cloakroom and they also use other facilities within the school including the playground and playing fields.

The main entrance is fully ramped to accommodate wheelchairs and there are disabled toilets in the building. Parents can use the school car park for the delivery and collection of children.
