Year 3

Miss Poplawska is covering Mrs Tennant’s maternity leave in 3P and is supported by Miss Harrison. In the Parallel class 3B Miss Baker is supported by Mrs Bramwell. The transition from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 2 is carefully managed and the children are encouraged to be more responsible and independent.

In Year 3 the children follow the new national curriculum, which you can read more about on the Department for Education website (external link).

Even though the children are sometimes in mixed ability groups, we are very keen to get the balance right between class unity and pitching work appropriately to each child's individual level. Some subjects will be taught as classes and in some subjects where objectives are different, such as Science, the children will be taught in year groups. The teachers all plan carefully together to ensure continuity for the children.
